Dr. Julie Lorber has been in practice for 15 years. She provides exceptional care for patients needing colonoscopies, anal procedures, and laparoscopic surgery for benign and malignant diseases of the colon and rectum. “I want people to feel comfortable talking to me about private health concerns and confident with my diagnostic and surgical skill,” says Dr. Lorber, who is fellowship-trained and board-certified in both colon and rectal surgery and general surgery. She communicates well with referring colleagues and patients, explaining their conditions and treatment options, and returning their calls personally.
Dr. Lorber earned her BA, graduating cum laude, from Cornell University. She continued her education in medicine to earn her Medical Doctorate in her home state, from the Medical College of Ohio. Following, she completed her internship, residency, and was a chief resident at Boston University. She continued her training, completing her fellowship at Orlando Regional Medical Center/MD Anderson Cancer Center.
She maintains privileges at Overlook Medical Center, RWJ Barnabas Medical Center, and Morristown Medical Center. She fulfills her clinical duties, along with teaching medical students, surgical resident doctors, and fellows. She stays current in her knowledge through her membership in the American College of Surgeons and American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
Dr. Lorber has been named a NJ Top Doc and has received multiple Patients’ Choice Awards.
